                   The Cure       

 

 In the quest to find the cure for cancer Cheri McCallum and John Gazarek created  Mushing For The Cure.  Cheri is undertaking this fundraising campaign by mushing with two Siberian Husky teams in various races throughout Ontario, Quebec and Michigan.  You will see Cheri on the hot pink sled handcrafted and specifically customized to fit by John.

 

Mushing For The Cure is a not-for-profit fundraising program, and we're pleased to begin our second annual campaign for 2010!  

 

Racing season begins the first weekend of January  and runs every weekend consecutively through to mid-March weather pending.  Cheri starts training in the fall on carts and switches over  to sleds once snow arrives.  Cheri and John are able to do this in part, thanks only to the generous and kind neighbors and farmers in the area who graciously allow them to use the perimeters of their fields and bush lands to put in trails and to maintain them throughout the year.

 

Mushing For The Cure is accepting sponsorships and donations on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Society to further promote research and development of effective treatments, education and awareness programs, along with the ever rising costs of all the other free to patient and family programs associated with this disease, such as transportation costs for the many volunteers who are always on hand to drive patients back and forth to hospital and doctor appointments.

 

By becoming a Community Partner and a Proud Supporter, it will enable us to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society  while building community spirit and awareness.

 

There are different levels of sponsorship available,  which include four basic  categories ranging from Bronze to Platinum as well as Individualized Sponsorships, Team Sponsorship and In Memory Of Sponsorship. We greatly appreciate your support.
